Taco Salad

3lbs ground beef
One head of lettuce
4 or 5 tomatoes
One big bag of nacho-flavor tortilla chips
One 16fl oz. Thousand Island Dressing
2/3 cup of picante sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
3 packs of taco seasoning
8oz of tomato sauce
6oz of tomato paste
One cup of water
5lb of shredded Cheddar cheese
- Brown all the ground beef until fully cooked.
- Drain the beef very well
- Put the beef back in pan it was cooked in.
- In a bowl mix up the taco seasoning, tomato sauce, paste and the water very good.
- Add the mix to the cooked beef.
- Cook all till the water is gone it should be very thick but not too dry.
- Cut the lettuce in to small bite sizes pieces
- Cut the tomatoes in to small bite sizes pieces
- In a big serving bowl or roster pan put in the chips, lettuce, tomatoes, beef mixture, cheese, dressing, ketchup, and picante sauce.
- The best way to mix it is with your hands, the more it is mixed the better it is.
- Cover it and take to the potluck or picnic
- Keep it cool until ready to serve
